It says “impossible to kill”, you thought you can spruce up your home with this cute little plant. The nice little shopkeeper said, just water it once every week.

You bring it home and you water it, every week as per told. One week past, it’s looking pretty in your bookshelf. Week 2 comes along and you see it wilting!

Sounds familiar?

Well, that’s what happened to me too! I fell in love with foliage’s when I started buying some weekly cut flowers. I’d get a cut Monstera leaf and it would last forever in my jar. I love how it made my home look.

A trip to Ikea later, I bought a few “impossible to kill” & “needs not much sunlight” plants (Snake Plant/Sanseveria & Money Plant/Pothos). Brought it home and it was thriving for a while, till it did not! Leaves started turning brown. It looked so wilted.

I was devastated.

Slowly but surely, I started buying more plants at home. This time, I experimented with soil, water, fertilizer and other conditions that make a healthy, happy plant.

It was still a rocky road to owning a thriving urban jungle, but I’ll be here to share all my tips to not be me, and be a plant noob!

Follow my next few posts as I lay down the basics for plant parenting. What you’d need to know before buying that first potted plant for your urban jungle!
