We all know that one person with an overflowing number of plants at home. Stop them from buying any new plants, instead, gift them with a gift of puzzle so that they can add on to their number of plants, without actually adding on a new plant!
Rabbit Island also stocks a whole lots of other planty gifts. We particularly love this Umbrella light, which adds a touch of whimsy to the house.
Like, you, I took planting quite seriously, pretty quickly. I wanted to give them the best possible conditions by buying them some nice bed of soil to live on.
So, i went online, searched through all these articles, watched all the videos from Planterina – and studied them. Looked out for these keywords – Peat Moss, Perlite, soil, aeration, etc.
LOL. I laugh because, i also bought 25L of it. It was a huge bag!
So when, it arrived, i was like, great, now i have this soil, i just need some perlites, and i’ll get the rest of the stuff later.
I was wrong! I think i managed to kill a couple of plants as this soil wasn’t very airy. It needed much more mix of substrates to make it airy and it gave me a couple of Root Rots š
My point is, if you’re a newbie in this plant thing, don’t be a hero and buy your own soil, just get these potting mixes from these awesome people below to start your plant parenting.
Indoor Potting Soil Mix in Singapore
Little Botany Soil Mix
Soil Contains: Perlite, coco peat, potting soil and little bit of magic.
Kuala Lumpur will always be my home and how can I not build a plant directory for KL? š Here are some places I’ve been stalking from afar in the greater Kuala Lumpur area and Selangor (can’t wait to go back to visit!). Let me know if you have been shopping for indoor plants somewhere else and I’ll add them in.
If you’re like me – a new plant parent, here are some links that you’d be interested to browse. This listing has a range of type of establishments from nurseries, to micro-farms, boutique shops to speciality shops like Hydroponics, Orchids, Bromeliads, and exotic plants that you can buy in Singapore. Will add in more information about each nursery/shops as I visit them, but here’s a quick listing style view for you to browse.
So weather you’re looking to get a new indoor plant, or an exotic cultivar, there’s something for everyone.
If you’d like to be listed, please send me a message! Also, if i got your listing wrong, please let me know š
Have you ever saw one of these posts and thought, hey, thatās not too bad!
It says āimpossible to killā, you thought you can spruce up your home with this cute little plant. The nice little shopkeeper said, just water it once every week.
You bring it home and you water it, every week as per told. One week past, itās looking pretty in your bookshelf. Week 2 comes along and you see it wilting!
Sounds familiar?
Well, thatās what happened to me too! I fell in love with foliageās when I started buying some weekly cut flowers. Iād get a cut Monstera leaf and it would last forever in my jar. I love how it made my home look.
A trip to Ikea later, I bought a few āimpossible to killā & āneeds not much sunlightā plants (Snake Plant/Sanseveria & Money Plant/Pothos). Brought it home and it was thriving for a while, till it did not! Leaves started turning brown. It looked so wilted.
I was devastated.
Slowly but surely, I started buying more plants at home. This time, I experimented with soil, water, fertilizer and other conditions that make a healthy, happy plant.
It was still a rocky road to owning a thriving urban jungle, but Iāll be here to share all my tips to not be me, and be a plant noob!
Follow my next few posts as I lay down the basics for plant parenting. What youād need to know before buying that first potted plant for your urban jungle!
